The Project Management Office (PMO) in Wärtsilä Power Plants was established in 2007 to further strengthen the focus on project management competence within the group. The key objective for PMO is to assure customer satisfaction and confidence by unifying the project management process, routines, tools, reporting and the development of project management competence within the group. PMO is also responsible for refining project management related practices in the key processes to ensure that the group is certified in accordance with the applicable procedures and systems, and for managing internal audits and benchmarking with other companies in the industry. The Project Management Office in Wärtsilä Power Plants is aligned with the strategic objectives to develop project management excellence within the business. PMO’s role is to support and coach Power Plant functions in the development of the capability to implement projects in order to achieve their organizational goals by applying Wärtsilä project management methodology.
